Search and Rescue
The Mono County Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) team is made up of Mono County residents, both men and women, who are at least 18 years of age.
We are always seeking new members, who have a dedication to public service, a willingness to devote personal time to learn our techniques, and a valid California's driver license.
Though all members are volunteers, the team works under the direction of the Mono County Sheriff's Department and the SAR Coordinator.
The team responds to a wide variety of missions, including searches for the lost and missing in all types of terrain and weather, rescues and evacuations of all sorts, and many other missions of unique character as needed.
