Animal Services

Animal Services is a public health and safety enforcement agency dedicated to protecting people from animals and animals from people. We are committed to safeguarding community health and animal welfare. MCAS achieves this through administering rabies control programs, public education initiatives, the promotion of responsible pet ownership, and facilitating the adoption of stray or unwanted animals.

The Animal Services Motto

"Treat everyone that we meet as we wish to be treated - treat every animal as if it were our own."

Thank you for visiting this site to register your pets! By protecting your pets, you are also protecting the people around you. California requires rabies vaccines for dogs, as it is a deadly disease. In order for Mono County to manage this mandate, pet owners of Mono County are required to register their dog with a dog license and a current rabies vaccination. The dog license relies on a current vaccination in order to be valid. Below you will find instructions for registering your dog with a dog license.
