Probation Employee of the Year Award
During the National Pretrial, Probation and Parole week, Probation staff vote for the employee who excels in their duties and upholds the mission of the Mono County Probation Department, to protect the community and preserve victim’s rights by holding individuals accountable through the implementation of evidence-based practices and rehabilitative services. This year Leianna Eissinger, Deputy Probation Officer III, received the Probation Employee of the Year Award. Mono County Probation and our community are proud to have her exemplary service.
It is with great pleasure we recognize Darcie Perkins as this year's Probation Employee of the year. Darcie is the Probation Department's Behavioral Health and Re-Entry Coordinator. She goes the extra mile to assist any clients with community assistance and specialized behavioral health services. She makes every client a priority and in return helps all of the Officers with case management. Her ability to step into complex situations and handle them with ease has been recognized by her peers, supervisors, and justice partners. She is a significant asset to the department. Congratulations Darcie!
This year two Medals of Valor were also awarded to Darcie Perkins and Probation Officer Leianna Eissinger. On June 3, 2024, they observed flames under a vehicle traveling north on 395. The driver was unaware of the flames under her car, and they were able to alert her to pull over, at which time the driver realized she had lost her brakes. She was able to safely coast into a turn out. These heroic employees then assisted her away from the car moments before the car exploded and became fully engulfed in flames. The driver later informed our department that she is alive because of "those two wonderful women", and she felt their actions not only saved her life but also the other motorists on the highway. Congratulations to Darcie and Leianna! Mono County Probation and our Community is proud to have you with us.
