Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra

Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing adaptive sports and therapeutic outdoor recreation for people with disabilities.

"Our programs provide opportunities for people of all ages with physical and/ or intellectual disabilities to have fun, healthy, inspiring experiences outdoors in the beautiful Eastern Sierra. In winter, our athletes alpine ski, Nordic ski, and snowboard at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center. In summer, we teach a variety of sports throughout the Eastern Sierra including road cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, and camping. In addition to daily lessons, we offer a variety of multi-day camps including programs for service members with disabilities and their families.

We offer state-of-the-art adaptive equipment and specialized teaching methodologies so that anyone with any type of disability can achieve their outdoor recreation goals. Whether a student wants to pursue competition in a given sport or simply feel the sensation of sliding down a snow-covered slope, DSES provides customized, one-on-one lessons for each athlete."

INYO MONO ASSOCIATION FOR THE HANDICAPPED

It is the mission of the Inyo-Mono Association for the Handicapped to promote an independent and fulfilling lifestyle for each client with developmental disabilities.

Volunteers are appreciated. You can get involved by helping with our educational curriculum. Perhaps you’d like to offer cooking classes, or teach a class on proper nutrition. Hope about teaching a yoga class? We have many opportunities for you to share your expertise and caring with our clients. To find out more contact us by email or call us at 760-873-8668.

Donate sell-able clothing and household items to IMAH’s Sierra Thrift Mall. The profits generated through sales not only pay the wages of our special adults who work in the store, but help support STARS programs and services.

Your investment in the lives of adults who are developmentally disabled enables them to lead a more independent and fulfilling life.
