Our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program is dedicated to providing timely, high-quality, and professional outpatient treatment services for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. We adopt a whole-person care approach, addressing the full spectrum of needs including medical and behavioral aspects. Recognizing the complexity of SUD, our program is committed to the well-being and recovery of all residents in Mono County. Through personalized and integrated care, we aim to support each individual on their path to lasting recovery and improved quality of life.
Under the Drug Medi-Cal State Plan System, SUD Treatment Programs provide the following services:
- Early Intervention Services
- Outpatient Treatment Services
- Care Coordination
- Clinician Consultation
Within these services, the following service components are provided:
- Assessment
- Counseling (individual and group)
- Medication Services
- Patient Education
- SUD Crisis Intervention
DMC Services
Early Intervention Services: Services provided for individuals under the age of 21. Any individual under the age of 21 screened and determined to be at risk of developing an SUD may receive early intervention services such as group counseling, individual counseling, and patient education.
Outpatient Treatment Services: Services that consist of up to nine (9) hours per week of medically necessary SUD services that include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, family therapy. patient education, medication services, collateral services, crisis intervention, and discharge planning.
Care Coordination: Services that consist in accessing essential services including medical, educational, social, pre-vocational, vocational, rehabilitative, and other community resources. The primary role of the assigned SUD Counselor or clinician is to deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each client's needs. These interventions are aimed at facilitating successful transitions between different levels of care and promoting overall recovery. Our goal is to ensure clients receive comprehensive support throughout their journey, enhancing their chances for long-term success and well-being.
Clinician Consultation: Services to support MCBH providers and therapists to address complex Substance Use Disorder (SUD) cases. Our collaboration includes supporting strategies for client adherence to treatment plans, managing potential challenges, and advising on the appropriate level of care. By working together, we aim to enhance the overall effectiveness of mental health providers and improve outcomes for clients.
DMC Services Components:
Assessment: During the first visit, a qualified treatment provider will conduct a screening to identify any Substance Use Disorder (SUD) conditions and provide immediate, personalized services based on individual needs. Additionally, a qualified therapist will perform a comprehensive assessment using the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to determine the most appropriate level of care for the individual.
Care Coordination: Services that support clients as they move through the continuum of SUD care. Services will assist clients to access needed medical, educational, social, pre-vocational, vocational, rehabilitative, or other community services. The major role of the assigned SUD Counselor or clinician will be to provide evidence-based interventions that will assist clients in having successful transitions throughout the levels of care and gain overall recovery.
Individual Counseling: Consists of one on one sessions with therapists or counselors.
Group Counseling: Focuses on the needs of the participants. Groups can range form 2-12 participants and are available in person or via zoom.
Patient Education: Education on substance use, treatment recovery, and associated health risks.
SUD Crisis Intervention Services: Focuses on alleviating the crisis problem and stabilizing the immediate situation. Service is provided in the least intensive level of care.
Contracted Services:
Intensive Outpatient Treatment Services: Intensive Services that consist of a minimum of nine (9) hours and a maximum of nineteen (19) hours per week of medically necessary SUD services that include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group
counseling, patient education, medication services, collateral services, crisis intervention, and discharge planning.
Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT): This includes prescribing and managing medications for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), and other Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), including Acamprosate, Disulfiram, Naltrexone, and Buprenorphine.
Residential Treatment Services: Short-term services for substance use at a residential facility. Withdrawal Management Services are provided to assist with intensive withdrawal symptoms when medically necessary.
